Four Pink Flags consists of four functional flags, each carrying one pale pink quadrant on a white field. From flag to flag, the pink moves: upper left, upper right, lower left, lower right. The four parts could complete a single pink surface, but they never do. They remain separate, suspended in sequence.

The work borrows the grammar of the flag without delivering its usual certainty. No nation, movement, party, or stable belonging is named. Instead, a simple shift takes place. A color changes position, and with it the meaning of position itself becomes unstable.

Pink appears here as a transinient charge: bodily and artificial, tender and exposed, minor and luminous. It does not stand still long enough to become a secure emblem. Like the social idea of normality, it is temporary, produced, repeated, displaced. What is marked as shame in one moment may be claimed as pride in another; what is celebrated as liberation may later harden into convention. The work does not treat sexuality as an essence, but as something made visible through signs, gestures, surfaces, prohibitions, and permissions.

The sequence has a cinematic edge: four stills, four positions, one color passing through the field along the horizontal axis of an imaginary history.

Weathered before being shown, the flags have passed through air, light, moisture, and friction. This brief service matters: it gives them a history without allowing them to become memorials. Made to fly, then taken down; made to signal, then withheld from allegiance, they enter the exhibition as decommissioned instruments.
